Golfing in Florida
Ferry service to Fort Pickens on the Gulf Islands National Seashore is now available. Katelyn Charters is the first to offer ferry transportation to Fort Pickens. Hurricanes in 2004 and 2005 shut down Fort Pickens Road. The fort has been accessible only by foot since then. Passengers can board the ferry at the Chulamar Shack at Sabine Marina on Pensacola Beach. Reservations are required to ride the ferry. The cost to ride is $25. Children under 10 can ride for half price. The current ferry can hold up to 12 people. For reservations, call (850) 492-1099.

National Museum, Home of IMAX

One of the largest air and space museums in the world where you can share in the excitement of Naval Aviation's rich history. So many things to do at the museum, including IMAX movies, motion-based simulator rides, guided tours of the museum and flight line.

Drift down the river!

The beautiful Blackwater River is the ONLY pristine sand river left in the United States, so unique that the State of Florida purchased and designated it as a State Forest. It offers large pavilions, restrooms and outdoor showers. Enjoy a pleasant ride on the river and then simply beach your canoe, tube or kayak.

Pensacola is the oldest non-continuous settlement in the U.S. and it has been the stage for much of the town's history. Tour an old Military Fort!

Constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1834 in a effort to fortify Pensacola Harbor, Fort Pickens is now an historic attraction in the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The fort was occupied by federal troops during the Civil War and at one time was a military prison for Apache medicine man Geronimo. Photos

Since 1955, millions of people have visited our park, enjoyed our attractions and left with smiles on their faces. Our mission is to provide both an educational and entertaining experience, while inspiring people of all ages to learn more about the marine world around them.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Park closes at 6 p.m.
Admission: Adults $18.75; Children 3-10, $11.00; Children ages 2 and under are free when accompanied by a parent paying the regular rate.

The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is one of the few houses that specialize in butterflies and plants that are native to the Florida Panhandle. The gardens are planted to show the plants that will survive in the Northwest Florida area. During our season, May through Labor Day, we have 300 to 500 butterflies flying free in our house.
Opening date is April 17, 2008.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.
Admission: Free, donations accepted.

Historic Pensacola Village

Historic Pensacola Village consists of twenty properties in the Pensacola National Register Historic District. Ten of these properties are interpreted facilities that are open to the public. Guided tours of these historic homes and buildings are offered daily, Monday through Saturday.

Discover Pensacola's Museum Treasurers

The first floor of the Museum has the "Changing Exhibits" display as well as our excellent gift shop. On the 2nd floor you'll be transported back through time to Pensacola's beginning where you'll learn about the people who have lived here, military and maritime roots. Pensacola's Lighthouse: A Light in the Night

PENSACOLA LIGHTHOUSE AND MUSEUM, Established in 1859, the lighthouse is still faithfully guiding mariners into Pensacola Bay with it's magnificent First Order Fresnel lens. Open to the public every Saturday noon to 4:00 p.m. April through October. Proper shoes must be worn (no flip-flops or open-backed shoes) and children must be 7 years or older to climb the tower.
