Ferry service to Fort Pickens on the Gulf Islands National Seashore is now available.
Katelyn Charters is the first to offer ferry transportation to Fort Pickens.
Hurricanes in 2004 and 2005 shut down Fort Pickens Road. The fort has been accessible only by foot since then.
Passengers can board the ferry at the Chulamar Shack at Sabine Marina on Pensacola Beach.
Reservations are required to ride the ferry. The cost to ride is $25. Children under 10 can ride for half price. The current ferry can hold up to 12 people.

Engineers in 1834 in a effort to fortify Pensacola
Harbor, Fort Pickens is now an historic attraction in
the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The fort was
occupied by federal troops during the Civil War and at
one time was a military prison for Apache medicine man

The Butterfly House is one of the few houses that specialize in butterflies and plants that are native to the Florida Panhandle. The gardens are planted to show the plants that will survive in the Northwest Florida area. During our season, May through Labor Day, we have 300 to 500 butterflies flying free in our house.
Opening date is April 17, 2008.

Historic Pensacola Village consists of twenty properties in the Pensacola National Register Historic District. Ten of these properties are interpreted facilities that are open to the public. Guided tours of these historic homes and buildings are offered daily, Monday through Saturday.

The first floor of the Museum has the "Changing Exhibits" display as well as our excellent gift shop. On the 2nd floor you'll be transported back through time to Pensacola's beginning where you'll learn about the people who have lived here, military and maritime roots.

A popular attraction for lighthouse lovers. This operational lighthouse is run by the United States Coast Guard Pensacola. Climbing to the top may be off limits now, but the public still can view the outside of the lighthouse and tour the grounds and keeper's quarters, known as the Navy Command Display Center.
