"Pelicans in Paradise", is modeled after community art ventures around the country.
The idea was conceived by the Pensacola News Journal President and Publisher, Denise Ivey and will benefit
the "Newspapers in Education", which will receive all proceeds from sponsership and merchandise sales.
This in turn will fund the distribution of 1.1 million newspapers and curriculum guides to more than 130
schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The Pelicans were sponsered by local Pensacola businesses
and have been decorated by local, regional and national artists. There are 40 Pelicans placed around
the downtown Pensacola area. The Pelicans may
